De Vlucht van Samuel is a preview of a collaborative project with ARQ, showcasing the initial pages of a larger work.
This story is about, depicting the situation in Eritrea that drives many young people to flee the country. Following Samuel’s story, there will be three more graphic narratives about a serveral young refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukrain. These stories are based on encounters with numerous young people. We are impressed by their resilience; at the same time, they occasionally need support.
The goal of this project is to foster understanding among young people regarding the experiences of refugee youth. We hope this book will be used in schools as part of social studies classes.
Currently, we are working on securing funding to complete the full project.
This small publication was presented during the 50 years of ARQ congress.
ARQ National Psychotrauma Center provides tailored care for individuals with complex trauma issues. Additionally, ARQ conducts scientific research to improve care and applies this knowledge in publications, training, and treatments.
